Very Fine, Capodimonte Covered Cup and Saucer

Description

For your consideration, a very fine covered cup and saucer, made at Capodimonte in Italy and wonderfully hand painted with scenes of gods and goddesses, cherubs and farm folk. The gilt decorated cover features cherubs at play, as does the saucer, which is decorated as a wreath of flowers with putti frolicking in the clouds above. An older piece, nicely painted and full of life and movement. We note the gilt branch form handles of the cup, terminate in bunches of ripe, purple, grapes. A really charming example.
Cup measures 2.75" by 3". Saucer is 5.75" diameter. Assembled it stands about 5.75" to top of finial.
This piece is in excellent condition. We see no damage and no wear.
