    A.C.L. Flagman Badge
    This hat badge is close to 100 years old based on the information below.  It is in good condition for the age of the item.
    The badge measures 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches high.
    The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (reporting mark ACL) is a former U. S. Class I railroad formed in 1900, though predecessor railroads had used the ACL brand since 1871. In 1967 it merged with long-time rival Seaboard Air Line Railroad to form the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad.
    The pin has a makers mark of AM. RY. S. Co. New York.  The American Railway Supply Company was founded in New York in 1891.  Also, This is one of the older badges.  Of the three hallmarks for American Railway Supply the AM RY S. CO. NEW YORK and AM RY S. CO. N.Y are believed to be earlier than the AMERICAN RY S. Co. NY hallmark.
