    Description

    19th Century French Capodimonte Style Hand Painted Griffins Centaurs Box Casket
    Beautiful porcelain jewelry box / casket. Hand painted in the Capodimonte style with raised mythological figures, including griffins and centaurs, and elaborate yellow, pink, and gold gilt scrollwork and floral designs. With gilt ormolu mounts. Marked on the bottom with an underglaze blue crown above a N. This particular pseudo Capodimonte mark has been seen on boxes that are also marked Made in France. Probably made by Bourdois & Bloch.
    Has some wear to the gilding, and has a small chip to one of the corners, but otherwise good condition with no additional chips or cracks.
    Measures approximately 7 3/4 inches long x 4 1/8 inches wide x 5 1/8 inches tall.
    This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
