This is a beautiful deep cobalt blue 1880s Harden Star Hand Grnade Fire Extinguisher bottle with vertical ribs.This bottle is empty and has no contents .......It has a large star embossed in circle with STAR boldly emb in middle.....

(bold emb in raised band around middle of bottle) ......Sunken bottom with plain bar.......Round with vertical ribs around bottle......... Hand blown in 3 part mold....ground sheared collar....cobalt blue.....6 1/2"tall.... Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean bottle...THIS BOTTLE IS EMPTY . This bottle acted like a grnade....it was to be thrown at the base of a fire. When the bottle broke it would release a cloud of gas which was supposed to extinguish the fire. Wonderful cobalt color and bold crisp embossing make this one of the finest examples of this bottle I've seen! .
